MELBOURNE - Jun 21/18 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over southern coasts will weaken as a ridge of high pressure develops over the State during Thursday. A weak front will move over the southern agricultural area on Saturday morning, before a weak low develops over the Bight on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayCold early, with areas of frost inland, mainly east of the ranges. Areas of morning fog in the west. A slight to medium chance of showers near southern coasts and ranges, Yorke Peninsula and over the eastern half of Eyre Peninsula, all clearing in the evening. A cool day with mainly light winds.Friday 22 JuneCold early with areas of frost inland, mainly east of the ranges. Areas of morning fog in the west, with early fog patches over the remainder of the agricultural area. A slight to medium chance of showers developing over far southern and western coasts. Generally cool with light winds, tending moderate northwesterly near southern coasts.Saturday 23 JuneCold early with frost patches over parts of the northern agricultural area and pastoral districts. A slight to medium chance of showers and morning fog patches over the southern agricultural area, West Coast district and far southwest of the North West Pastoral, reaching a high chance about western coasts. Cool grading to mild in the far north, with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 24 June Early frost patches in the far north and early fog patches elsewhere. A slight to medium chance of showers in the west and about central parts of the southern agricultural area, reaching a high chance about western coasts. Cool, grading to mild in the far northeast. Mainly light southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 1 mm over the northern agricultural area and in the west, increasing to 1 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, with isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm over far southern and far western coasts. Monday until WednesdayA slight chance of showers over the West Coast district, the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, contracting to southern coasts on Tuesday and clearing by Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Thursday.Product IDS10033 Notice Board 31 additional forecast locations for SA Changes to state Weather and Warnings pages --> BoM is upgrading its IT systems in South Australia on Tuesday 5 December 2017.
