MELBOURNE - Dec 11/17 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the the western Tasman Sea extends a ridge along much of the New South Wales coast, while a broad, weak trough lies over the inland. The high will become the main synoptic feature during the next few days, allowing increasingly hot air to get drawn down from central Australia. The next significant change will arrive at the end of the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and mostly sunny, apart from early drizzle patches about the southern coastal ranges, and the slight chance of a morning shower on the northern coast. Daytime temperatures near average along the coast, and above average elsewhere, with a hot day expected in the west. Light and variable winds inland, tending northeast to southeasterly near the coast.Wednesday 13 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Very warm to hot inland, tending very hot in the west. Northwesterly winds inland tending northeasterly near the coast, fresh along the south coast.Thursday 14 DecemberFine apart from the chance of a shower or two across the south and on parts of the ranges and coast. Partly cloudy. Hot to very hot in most areas, though a cooler change moving into southern parts. Northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting southerly in the south during the day.Friday 15 DecemberMedium to high chance of showers in eastern districts with possible thunderstorms on the ranges and south coast. Fine and partly cloudy in the western inland. Hot inland, with temperatures also above average on the coast and ranges.
