Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 6/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system in the Bight will move eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea during Wednesday. A cold front will move over the State during Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, followed by another high pressure system developing south of the Bight on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdaySlight to medium chance of showers with possible thunderstorms about the Pastoral districts, increasing to a high chance in the far north. Mild to warm. Generally light winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 7 DecemberA medium chance of showers and possible thunderstorms across the north of the State, north of Marla to Moomba. A high chance of showers and thunderstorms developing over the North West Pastoral, West Coast and Eyre Peninsula districts from late morning, becoming more likely during the afternoon, extending eastwards over central districts in the late afternoon and evening with the slight chance of showers reaching the eastern border south of Renmark in the late evening. Warm to hot with light winds becoming moderate north to northwesterly during the day ahead of a cooler fresh to strong southwesterly change reaching a line Oak Valley to Ceduna to Port Lincoln in the late evening.Thursday 8 DecemberA high chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms east of about Tarcoola to Kingscote contracting east and north during the morning to be northeast of Oodnadatta to Broken Hill in the afternoon. A slight chance showers continuing about the southern agricultural area and western coasts. Cool to mild, tending to warm to hot in the northeast. Moderate northwesterly winds ahead of a fresh to strong southwesterly change near Coober Pedy to Adelaide early in the morning extending throughout during the day, tending moderate southerly during the afternoon and evening.Friday 9 DecemberA slight chance of showers about coasts, more likely in the southeast. Cool to mild with moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.Saturday 10 December
A slight chance of a light shower about the Lower South East coast, otherwise fine. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeasterly winds and moderate afternoon sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be highly variable, but generally range between 5 to 15 mm with isolated falls of 15 to 30 mm possible, mostly falling on Wednesday and Thursday.
Sunday until TuesdayFine conditions for Sunday and Monday, with a chance of showers developing about western and southern districts during Tuesday. Warm to hot on Sunday, becoming hot throughout on Monday then hot to very hot on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
