Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 29/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over New South Wales will move eastwards to be over Tasman Sea by Monday, then remain slow moving. A deep low southwest of the Bight will weaken as it moves southeastwards across waters to the south of the State. A low pressure system will develop near the western border on Thursday, before moving over the north of the State during the day.
Forecast for the rest of MondayAreas of rain extending to most of the State, but gradually clearing over western parts of the State. Possible thunderstorms within the rain area. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, tending northwest to westerly in the west.Tuesday 30 AugustAreas of rain east of Marree to Kingscote contracting to the far northeast by late evening. A slight to medium chance of showers with possible thunderstorms to follow over the agricultural area as well as the Flinders and the southern Pastoral districts. Generally mild with mainly moderate northwesterly winds tending west to northwesterly over the west.Wednesday 31 AugustA slight chance of patchy rain about the far northeast clearing during the early morning, then redeveloping about the far north of the State during the late evening. A slight to medium chance of showers about the agricultural area, increasing to a high chance about the Lower South East coast. Generally mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds tending fresh southerly winds in the west.Thursday 1 September
Areas of rain developing about the Pastoral districts, with slight to medium chance of showers over the agricultural area. Possible thunderstorms over the North West Pastoral. Generally cool with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, easing during the afternoon and becoming light and variable in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the far west and Eyre Peninsula, 15 to 25 mm over the remainder, reaching 25 to 50 mm in the northern Pastoral districts.
Friday until SundaySlight to medium chance of rain northeast of Marla to Tarcoola to Broken Hill contracting east clearing by Friday afternoon. A slight chance of showers about the agricultural area on Friday, gradually contracting southeastwards with fine conditions throughout the State by Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Monday.Product IDS10033
