MELBOURNE - Jul 22/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous west to northwest airstream over the state will gradually abate later today, followed by a series of cold fronts moving through the southern parts of New South Wales over the next few days, establishing cooler conditions. A ridge of high pressure will also build across the north of the state over the weekend. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMorning showers on the ranges, western slopes and parts of the coast, most likely about the southern slopes. Snow showers over the Alps lowering to about 1000 metres. Colder, with strong west to southwest winds, gusty over the ranges and Hunter. Remaining mild to warm on the north coast.Sunday 24 JulyThe chance of a shower over the southern inland, more frequent on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes. Snow showers over the Alps above 800 metres, and the chance of a late snow shower above 1000 metres over the remainder of the southern and central ranges. Fine along the coast and in the north. Colder north to northwest winds, freshening in the west.Monday 25 JulyShowers on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes, and the chance of a shower over the remainder of the far southern inland. Snow showers over the southern and central ranges above 900 metres in the morning. West to northwest winds, freshening over the ranges.Tuesday 26 JulyShowers on the southern half of the ranges and western slopes, falling as snow above 900 metres. Fine elsewhere.
