Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 29/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the eastern States will move over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday and Wednesday. A trough over the far west will move slowly eastwards during Monday and Tuesday followed by another trough on Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayPossible morning fog patches about the West Coast and south of the North West Pastoral. Slight to medium chance of showers developing across the State apart from the far northeast and the south of the North West Pastoral district west of about Tarcoola. Showers increasing to medium to high chance over parts of the North West Pastoral and about Kangaroo Island. Possible thunder about Kangaroo Island and in the far northwest. Cool to mild with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds in the east, southwesterly in the west.Tuesday 31 MayPossible morning fog patches about the West Coast. A slight to medium chance of showers across the State, apart from the North West Pastoral district south of Coober Pedy and west of Tarcoola, contracting east during the day. Showers increasing to medium to high chance about southern coasts and the eastern districts. Possible thunder about Kangaroo Island and in the far northwest. Cool to mild with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds in the east, south to southeasterly in the west.Wednesday 1 JuneA slight to medium chance of showers developing west of about Nullarbor to Marla, increasing to a medium to high chance in the northwest. Possible thunder in the far northwest. A slight chance of a shower about Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 2 June
A slight to medium chance of showers west of about Leigh Creek to Wudinna and about Kangaroo Island, increasing to a medium to high chance west of Coober Pedy. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm generally, except over the far northeast and northern Eyre Peninsula where less than 2 mm is expected. Higher falls of 5 to 15 mm are forecast about the far western border area and over Kangaroo Island increasing to 15 to 25 mm about the far northwest.
Friday until SundayThe chance of showers across the north of the State and over Kangaroo Island, contracting east and clearing on Friday. Showers re-developing in the west on Saturday and extending across the state on Sunday. Cool to mild with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds, becoming northwesterly ahead of a southwesterly change extending from the west over the weekend.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Monday.Product IDS10033
