Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 29/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong and slow-moving high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge across New South Wales. This ridge is expected to gradually weaken over the next few days as the high moves further east. A weak low-level trough will linger over southwest and central New South Wales during Friday and Saturday, before a cold front is forecast to cross the state during Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPatchy fog in the northeast and along the coast early this morning. Patchy rain through most central, southern and western districts, tending to areas of rain over the southern and central inland. Thunderstorms possible in the west. Fine and partly cloudy in the northeast, apart from the odd shower about the northern coast. Northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west.Saturday 30 AprilRain or showers mostly in central parts and the southwest. The chance of thunderstorms in the west. Northeast to northwest winds.Sunday 1 MayShowers mostly in central and eastern parts. The chance of thunderstorms over the northeast. Fresh northeast to northwest winds turning cool and gusty west to southwesterly in the west and south during the day.Monday 2 MayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over the far northeast.
