Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/16 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the central Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast, while a weakening inland trough lies from the northwest to the southeast. Today an upper level feature will continue to move overhead, bringing the chance of a shower or thunderstorm to some eastern and central districts, while hot conditions persist in the west. On the Saturday a return to more stable weather is expected as the upper feature moves away, leaving only the odd shower or two near the coast. On Sunday a cold front will move through southern and western districts, bringing a shower or two and possible thunderstorm to the southeast and milder conditions in the southwest.
Forecast for the rest of FridayThe chance of a shower or thunderstorm in most of the east, more likely about the central and southern ranges. Hot and mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, freshening in the south. Light and variable winds inland, tending southerly in the south.Saturday 13 FebruaryFine apart from the chance of a shower or two on the far north and south coasts. Mostly sunny. Hot in the west. East to northeasterly winds near the coast, fresh in the south. Winds tending west to northwesterly inland.Sunday 14 FebruaryMedium chance of showers and a possible thunderstorm along the southern and central coast and ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot over the northern inland. North to northeasterly winds in the north and east. A mild southerly change extending through western and southern districts.Monday 15 FebruaryShowers along the south and central coasts and eastern ranges, possibly extending to the western ranges and slopes and through the Hunter district, with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine and partly cloudy on the north coast. Fine and sunny in the remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds on and near the coast, south to southwesterly inland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDN10031
