USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Jan 22/16 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jan 22.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain bids were higher with soybeans trading slight to
moderately lower on a short trading week.  The week opened on a positive note,
however, was a roller coaster ride as the stock market was up and down.  Corn
saw some resistance on slow exports.  Ethanol production has been going down as
reserves increase.  Concerns of hot weather in South America lending some
support to soybeans.  Wheat was mostly 1-10 cents higher.  Yellow Corn traded
mostly 7-9 cents higher with white corn trading 10-12 cents higher.  Sorghum was
16-25 cents higher.  Soybeans were mostly 3-13 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was
3 cents higher from 5.31 1/2-5.61 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red
winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 7 cents higher from 4.27-4.50 per bushel.  Mnneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 17
3/4 cents lower to 2 3/4 cents higher from 5.90 1/4-6.00 1/4 per bushel.
Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 1 1/4 to 10 cents higher from 5.30-5.40
per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 10 to 12 cents higher from
3.91-3.97 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 8 to 9 cents
higher from 3.69-3.72 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 7 to 9 cents
higher from 3.55-3.61 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 8 to 9 cents
higher from 3.56-3.84 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 9 cents
higher from 3.74-3.76 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 9
cents higher at 3.23 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 3 1/2 cents higher at 2.58 3/4 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail
malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 17 cents higher at 6.38 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 16 to 25 cents higher from 5.57-5.84 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 13 3/4 cents lower at 8.28
1/2 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 3/4 to 3
3/4 cents lower from 8.81 1/2-8.93 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow
truck soybeans were 3 3/4 cents lower to 1 1/4 cent higher from 8.78 1/2-8.83
1/2 per bushel.  Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 2.00
lower from 280.20-282.20 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor
bid was 19 points higher from 28.19-29.44 cents per pound.
