Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies just off the southern coast of Queensland and extends a ridge through the state. The high is dragging warm to hot air from central Australia towards Queensland's southern districts, but slightly cooler conditions will spread inland from midweek.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and clear across most of the state except for the slight to medium chance of showers about the east coast and ranges north of about Bowen. Light winds over the southeast, moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds elsewhere.Tuesday 6 OctoberFine and sunny across most of the state except for the slight to medium chance of showers about the east coast and ranges north of about Bowen, and the slight chance of showers over the far northwest. Light winds over the southeast, moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds elsewhere. Very warm over the southern districts.Fire Danger -  Very High over all southern and central districts.Wednesday 7 OctoberThe next high pressure system will move through the Great Australian Bight, maintaining the ridge along the Queensland east coast. The upper level high over central Australia should maintain fine, sunny and dry conditions across most of the state. Some showers about the northeast coast in an onshore flow. Still very warm over the southern districts.Thursday 8 OctoberA high pressure system will move gradually across southeast Australia, strengthening the ridge further along the east coast of Queensland. Some milder air will push across southeast Queensland as a result. The slight to medium chance of showers over the far eastern districts in the onshore flow. Fine and dry and over the interior.Friday 9 OctoberThe high pressure system will move slowly east through the Tasman Sea, with the strong ridge along the east coast continuing. The slight to medium chance of showers over the far eastern districts in an onshore flow. Fine and dry and over the interior.Saturday until MondayThe new high will move slowly eastwards across the Tasman Sea, maintaining a ridge along Queensland's east coast and pushing showers across the far eastern districts. Fine, dry and mostly sunny over the interior.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Tuesday.Product IDQ10700
