ST. JOSEPH - Oct 2/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Oct 2.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids traded higher. Commodities started the week lower due to harvest pressure and the stock market closing sharply lower. However, the grains recovered in reaction to the lower than expected supplies from the USDAs Quarterly Stocks Report on Wednesday. Soybeans came in at 191 mb, 19 million bushels less than expected; wheat came in less than expected at 2.052 bb for the 2015 season. Corn supplies came in as expected with 1.73 bb. A lower dollar also lent some support. Harvest continues with cash basis becoming weaker in some areas. Wheat was 13-43 cents higher. Corn was 3-14 cents higher. Sorghum was 10-49 cents higher. Soybeans were mostly 7-15 cents higher. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 17 1/2 cents higher from from 5.53 1/2-5.77 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 21 cents higher from 4.33-4.78 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 13-43 cents higher from 6.37-6.47 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail traded at 5.48 1/4-5.55 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 6-9 cents higher from 3.85- 3.93 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 7 1/4-9 1/4 cents higher from 3.70 3/4-3.71 3/4 cents per bushel. Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3-9 cents higher from 3.61-3.63 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 7 1/4-14 1/4 cents higher from 3.65 3/4-3.93 3/4 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 4 1/4-12 1/4 cents higher from 3.78 3/4-3.79 3/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 12 1/4 cents higher at 3.33 3/4 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 4 3/4 cents higher to 5 1/4 cents lower from 2.31-2.76 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was steady at 4.95 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 40 to 49 cents higher at 6.41 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 10 to 12 cents higher from 6.14-6.41 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 15 1/4 cents higher at 8.42 1/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 7 1/4-9 1/4 cents higher from 8.67 1/4-8.85 1/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 3/4 ents lower at 8.77 1/4 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 1.80 lower to .20 cents higher from 322.60- 327.60 per ton.
