LITTLE ROCK - Aug 17/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.
National Weekly Rice Summary (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) Domestic Trend In the south, long grain milled rice prices steady; medium grain milled rice prices mostly steady, instances 1.00 lower in Arkansas. Parboiled prices steady. Second heads prices mostly steady, instances 1.00 lower in Arkansas. Brewers rice prices steady to weak. Rice by-products: Rice Bran prices mostly steady instances 10.00 higher in Arkansas and Texas. Millfeed prices steady to 5.00 higher on limited comparison. Ground hulls lightly tested however prices mostly steady. Louisiana farmers are heavy into harvesting with field yields being less than ideal. Rice harvest in other southern states is just getting under way. Dry conditions exist throughout southern rice country. In California, medium grain milled rice prices firm. Second heads and Brewers rice prices mostly steady. Rice by-products: Rice Bran prices weak; ground hull prices not well tested. Majority of California new crop rice remains good to excellent condition. Water continues to be discussed at coffee table for both urban and rural areas. CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Aug 14th, Sep 15 closed .08 lower at 11.82; Nov 15 closed .08 lower at 12.095; Jan 16 closed .075 lower at 12.39. US dollar index on Friday settled at 96.52.
