Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high to the southwest of Australia will move slowly eastwards over the next few days while maintaining a firm ridge across Queensland, pushing cool, dry air across most of the state.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayDry, cool and sunny across most of Queensland. Only a slight to moderate chance of showers about the northeast coast and northern Peninsula. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger -  Very High over the Gulf Country.Thursday 6 AugustThe high will move gradually eastwards across the Great Australian Bight and maintain the firm ridge across Queensland. Fine, dry and sunny across the state except for the chance of some showers about the east coast of Cape York Peninsula. Widespread early frost over the central and southeastern interior, possibly reaching up into the northeastern interior.Friday 7 AugustThe high is expected to settle over southeast Australia, maintaining dry and sunny conditions across most of Queensland. The slight chance of some showers near the southeast coast. Widespread early frost areas over the central and southeastern interior, possibly reaching up into the northeastern interior.Saturday 8 AugustA ridge of high pressure is expected to remain over southeastern Australia, maintaining dry and sunny conditions across most of Queensland. Isolated showers are possible along much of the east coast. Widespread early frosts about the southeastern and central interior.Sunday until TuesdayA ridge of high pressure is expected to remain over southern Queensland, maintaining dry and sunny conditions across most of the state. Isolated showers are possible along parts of the east coast.
