U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Aug 3/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady.  Parboiled,
Second Heads and Brewers rice prices steady to weak.  Rice by-products:  Rice
Bran and Millfeed prices steady to weak on limited confirmed spot sales.  Ground
hulls not well tested.  Louisiana farmers are currently harvesting while other
boarding states are not too far behind.  No concrete data back at this time,
however the word on the street is that field yields are somewhat lacking.
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady to firm.  Second heads
and Brewers rice prices steady to weak.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran prices
weak; ground hull prices not well tested.  Majority of California new crop rice
remains good to excellent condition.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Jul 31th, Sep 15 closed .08 higher at
11.515; Nov 15 closed .075 higher at 11.775; Jan 16 closed .08 higher at 12.05.
