MELBOURNE - May 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front and strong west to southwesterly change crossed southern and central NSW yesterday and is expected to weaken as it moves through the northeast today. For the remainder of the week a series of fronts will clip the southern part of NSW while a high pressure ridge develops across northern NSW, leading to a cool, stable southwesterly airflow over the state. Forecast for the rest of WednesdaySlight to medium chance of light showers over the western slopes of the far southern ranges, with light snow possible above 1600 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. A warm day on the north coast with light winds tending southeasterly. Cooler west to southwesterly winds over the remainder, fresh to strong about parts of the southeast.Thursday 7 MaySlight to medium chance of showers over the southern slopes and adjacent ranges, with possible snow above 1500 metres. The slight chance of a shower about the coastal fringe in the far north, and along the Victorian border inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Westerly winds in the south tending southerly in the north.Friday 8 MaySlight to medium chance of showers over the southern slopes and adjacent ranges, with possible snow above 1700m. Westerly winds in the south, tending southwesterly in the north.Saturday 9 MaySlight to medium chance of showers over the southern slopes and adjacent ranges, with possible snow above 1500m.
