A new upper trough will enter the west of the state on Friday and move eastwards across the south of the state over the weekend.

A surface trough will move east across the state, entering the southeast interior late in the day. Showers will continue about central and eastern districts in the onshore flow to the east of the trough with isolated showers. Showers and storms will be more frequent about the Capricornia and southeast districts due to the approaching upper trough. The northern tropics should be mostly fine with only a slight chance of showers. Much of the west of state should be fine and mostly sunny in the wake of the trough.Sunday until TuesdayThe upper trough and an associated surface trough should move into the east of the state on Sunday and then both clear off the east coast of Queensland during Monday. Another upper trough is then likely to develop over the south of the state on Tuesday. Showers will continue over eastern districts in the onshore wind flow on Sunday and will be for frequent with thunderstorms about central and southeastern districts due to the upper trough. By Monday, only isolated showers are expected along the east coast in the onshore flow as the upper trough moves into the Coral Sea and much of the interior should be fine and mostly sunny.
