MELBOURNE - Mar 31/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1027 hPa in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over South Australia. A trough will move over western and southern parts of the State on Wednesday. A new high pressure system will move into a position south of the Bight early on Thursday then will move slowly east to be near Tasmania on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from a slight chance of showers developing in the far west during the evening. Mild evening with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, turning west to northwesterly in the far west during the evening.Wednesday 1 AprilThe chance of showers developing southwest of Ernabella to Yunta, more likely about the agricultural area and the far west. High chance of precipitation with rain in areas south of Port Neil to Naracoorte. Possible thunderstorms developing west of Ceduna. Generally warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder southerly change developing from the west. Winds becoming southeasterly during the evening.Thursday 2 AprilThe slight chance of morning showers south of a line from Cleve to Lameroo. Medium chance of showers with possible thunderstorms throughout the day to the north of the line apart from the far northeast. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts.Friday 3 AprilThe chance of showers north of Cleve to Lameroo apart from the far northeast. Medium chance of showers with possible thunderstorms over the Flinders and the Pastoral districts east of Tarcoola south of Marree. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds.Saturday 4 April Slight chance of showers northeast of Tarcoola to Renmark with possible thunderstorms east of Moomba to Woomera to Yunta. Also the slight chance of showers developing about the southern and far western coasts. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday is expected to be less than 2 mm in the far northwest, 2 to 5 mm elsewhere with possible isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm.
