Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 27/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over Tasmania will move eastwards and weaken as a trough of low pressure moves into the far west of the State this evening . The trough will move over the remainder of the State during Saturday. Another high will develop south of the Bight on Sunday and move quickly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea early next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridaySlight chance of showers west of about Ceduna, extending to the southern parts of Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East this evening. Showers more likely with possible thunderstorms in the far west this afternoon. Fine over the remainder. Warm in the far south, hot to very hot elsewhere with light to moderate northerly winds and coastal sea breezes shifting west to southwesterly in the far west from late afternoon.Saturday 28 FebruaryAreas of cloud extending across the State during the day. Showers and thunderstorms in the west of the North West Pastoral district, extending over agricultural areas and possibly extending to areas southwest of Renmark and Leigh Creek before clearing by midnight. Hot to very hot in the north and east ahead of a cooler, fresh southerly change in the west, reaching Wudinna to Port Neill to Victor Harbor by late morning and Leigh Creek to Broken Hill late evening. Possible areas of raised dust about northern agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts.Sunday 1 MarchA slight chance of showers about the southern coasts until mid-afternoon. Slight chance of late rain over the west of the North West Pastoral district. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Monday 2 MarchRain west of about Ernabella to Coober Pedy to Ceduna, easing as it extends eastwards over the West Coast district, then mainly to northern agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts of the North West Pastoral districts. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 3 March
Patchy rain over the Flinders and southern Pastoral districts contracting to the west of the North West Pastoral district during afternoon. A slight chance of showers about southern coasts clearing in the afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, with possible falls of 2 to 5 mm mainly about southern agricultural areas and the West Coast district. Isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible in areas of rain and thunderstorms in the west of the North West Pastoral district.
Wednesday until FridayRain clearing from the far west of the North West Pastoral district early Wednesday. A slight chance of showers about southern coasts persisting through to the end of the week. Generally mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
