Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 26/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high south of the Kangaroo Island will move eastwards and weaken as a trough of low pressure moves into the far west of the State late today. The trough will move over the remainder of the State during Saturday ahead of another high developing over the Bight on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayMorning fog patches over the Lower South East. Slight chance of showers west of about Ceduna this morning, extending to the southern parts of Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East this afternoon and evening. Showers more likely with possible thunderstorms in the far west this afternoon. Fine over the remainder. Warm in the far south, hot to very hot elsewhere with light to moderate northerly winds and coastal sea breezes shifting west to southwesterly in the far west from late afternoon.Saturday 28 FebruaryAreas of cloud and the slight chance of thundery showers extending to districts southwest of Coober Pedy to Clare and the chance of showers extending to about Renmark to Leigh Creek. Hot to very hot in the north and east, ahead of a cooler, fresh southerly change in the west, extending throughout by late evening.Sunday 1 MarchAreas of cloud and the chance of early morning showers northwest of Coober Pedy. Slight chance of light showers about southern coasts during the morning. Slight chance of patchy late rain over the Nullarbor Plain region. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.Monday 2 March
Patchy rain extending over the West Coast, south of the North West Pastoral and parts of Eyre Peninsula, the Flinders and the Mid North, increasing to areas of rain in the west. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about the west and over southern coasts. Isolated falls of 5 to 15 mm are possible with areas rain and thunderstorms in the far west.
Tuesday until ThursdayPatchy rain over central parts of the State, more likely in the west, contracting to the North West Pastoral district during Tuesday then clearing on Wednesday. The chance of showers about southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate southeast to southwesterly winds, fresh at times about the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
