MELBOURNE - Feb 26/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over the state will continue to move to the northeast this evening, with a weak cold front moving north overnight. The next front is expected to cross the state during Sunday with a ridge of high pressure system following in its wake. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMedium chance of showers in the east with the chance of thunderstorms, with a high chance on the tablelands and central west slopes. Mostly clear in the west. Northwest to southwesterly winds in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast.Friday 27 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers over the eastern half, increasing to a high chance over the far northeast. Chance of thunderstorms over the far northeast, with the thunderstorms more likely over the Northern Tablelands. Hot in the far northwest. Light winds tending northeasterly near the coast.Saturday 28 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers in the northeast, more likely on the tablelands. Slight chance of showers in the far southwest near the Victorian border late in the day. Possible thunderstorms for the northern tablelands. Mostly clear west of the Divide. Hot in the west. North to northeasterly winds, turning southwesterly in the west late.Sunday 1 MarchSlight to medium chance of showers in the southwest, increasing to high chance from the slopes through to the coast. The chance of thunderstorms on the central and northern ranges, and adjacent parts. Hot in the far northwest. Northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a southwesterly change extending from the southwest during the day.Monday 2 MarchSlight to medium chance of showers east of the Divide.
