Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 25/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1024 hPa in the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge of high pressure westwards, south of South Australia. A new high will ridge in south of the Bight on Thursday and then move eastwards. A trough of low pressure will reach the western border early Saturday and move across the west and south of the State during Saturday and the northeast on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Thursday 26 FebruaryFine apart from the slight chance of showers developing over the far west of the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast districts. Warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Friday 27 FebruarySlight chance of showers and possible thunderstorms west of about Ceduna, with possible showers extending to the south of Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Fine elsewhere. Hot to very hot with light to moderate northerly winds and coastal sea breezes.Saturday 28 FebruaryAreas of cloud and the slight chance of thundery showers extending to districts southwest of Coober Pedy to Renmark. Hot to very hot in the north and east, ahead of a cooler, fresh southerly change in the west, extending northeast to reach a line Broken Hill to Coober Pedy late evening.Sunday 1 March
Areas of cloud and the chance of showers north of Port Augusta to Renmark, contracting further north and clearing during Sunday. Slight chance of light showers about southern and western coasts during the morning. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Sunday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about the western border and over southern coasts. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are possible with thunderstorms in the far west.
Monday until WednesdayShowers developing west of about Port Lincoln on Monday and Tuesday, more likely in the far west. Showers extending to southern coasts on Wednesday. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
