Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 23/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure has moved into southwest Queensland. A high will develop to the south of the Bight Monday night and then move slowly east to be over the southern Tasman Sea on Wednesday. Another trough of low pressure will develop near the western border on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondaySlight chance of showers and thunderstorms over central parts of the Northeast Pastoral and north of the Flinders districts, clearing in the evening. A moderate chance of rain northwest of Coober Pedy, with possible thunderstorms in the far northwest. Mild in the south and west grading to very hot in the northeast. A fresh and gusty southerly change over the agricultural area and in the west, extending northeastwards during the day.Tuesday 24 FebruaryThe chance of patchy rain with possible thunder in the far northwest, fine elsewhere. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot to very hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southeast winds and fresh to strong southerly coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 25 FebruarySlight chance of a shower about the western border, fine elsewhere. Mild to warm about the coasts, grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Thursday 26 February
The slight chance of showers over the west of the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast districts, with possible thunder in the far west. Warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, possibly reaching 2 to 10 mm with rain in the northwest and with thunderstorms.
Friday 27 FebruaryA medium chance of showers and possible thunderstorms in the far west, with possible isolated showers about the west coast of Eyre Peninsula and far southern coasts. Hot to very hot with light to moderate northerly winds and coastal sea breezes.Saturday until MondayA cooler southerly change in the west, extending northeast to reach a line Broken Hill to Oodnadatta Saturday evening and the northeast corner on Sunday afternoon. A medium chance of showers with possible thunder in the west on Saturday. A slight chance of showers developing over the remainder except the far northeast, then contracting to the far west on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
