MELBOURNE - Feb 22/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over the North East Pastoral will continue to move northeastwards, to be over the eastern states later today. A high will develop to the south of the Bight later on Monday and then move slowly east to be over the southern Tasman Sea on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of MondaySlight chance of showers and thunderstorms southeast of a line Elliston to Leigh Creek, contracting east and clearing in the evening. Morning drizzle about the Nullarbor Plain. A moderate chance of rain northwest of Coober Pedy, with possible thunderstorms in the far northwest. Mild in the south and west grading to very hot in the northeast. A fresh and gusty southerly change over the agricultural area and in the west, extending northeastwards during the day.Tuesday 24 FebruaryThe chance of patchy rain in the far northwest, fine elsewhere. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot to very hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southeast winds.Wednesday 25 FebruarySlight chance of rain in the far west with possible thunder about the western border, fine elsewhere. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Thursday 26 February The slight chance of showers over the west of the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast districts, with possible thunder in the far west. Warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Thursday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, possibly reaching 2 to 10 mm with rain in the northwest and with thunderstorms. Friday until SundayA chance of showers and thunderstorms in the west on Friday extending across the State except the far northeast.
