Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 22/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system (Ex- Tropical Cyclone Marcia), located off the southeast Queensland coast is moving east to northeast and weakening. A weak ridge extends across southeast New South Wales from a high pressure system near New Zealand. A front is expected to move through southern parts of New South Wales tomorrow, reaching the central and southeastern parts of the state on Tuesday, before weakening.
Forecast for the rest of SundayHigh to chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Slight to medium chance of showers on the central coast and ranges. Slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot in the far west. Southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh to strong on the north coast.Monday 23 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers in the southwest. Thunderstorms likely near the trough in the southwest. Slight to medium chance of showers over central and coast increasing to high chance of showers on the north coast and ranges. Slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the southern slopes and ranges near the Victorian border. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot in the far west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 24 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers in the east increasing to a high chance near the coast, and over the southern slopes. Mostly sunny in the west. Hot in the far northwest. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 25 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers from the slopes and plains through to the coast, increasing to a high chance in the southeast. Mostly sunny in the west. Hot in the far northwest. Southwesterly winds in the west. Southeast to northeast winds in the east, tending northwest over the northern inland.Thursday 26 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers from the slopes to the coast, increasing to a high chance on the eastern side of the northern ranges. Mostly sunny in the west. Hot in the far northwest. Southwesterly winds in the west.
