MELBOURNE - Feb 18/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over northeastern Victoria will drift towards western Victoria on Thursday, as a high pressure system moves from south of Hobart to the south Tasman Sea. The low pressure trough will weaken on Friday and the high will remain over the south Tasman Sea on Friday and the weekend. Another low pressure trough will approach southwestern Victoria Sunday night before moving through the remainder of the State during Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in central and eastern areas, with locally heavy falls possible. Fine and mostly sunny over the far west. A warm and humid day with generally light winds inland and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Moderate to High.Friday 20 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over the eastern ranges. A warm day with light winds inland and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 21 FebruaryFine. Generally warm to hot with light northerly winds inland, but a little milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Sunday 22 FebruaryFine apart from isolated thundery showers over the eastern ranges and late thundery showers in the southwest.
