Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 16/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will linger over northeastern Victoria on Tuesday and Wednesday then will drift back to western Victoria on Thursday as a high pressure system moves from south of the Bight to the Tasman Sea. The high will remain over the Tasman Sea on Friday as the next low pressure trough crosses the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the far northeast, clearing this evening. Drizzle patches developing over southern Victoria overnight. Dry over the northwest.
Light to moderate northeasterly to northerly winds over the northeast, but southerly winds elsewhere.
Tuesday 17 FebruaryDrizzle patches in the south contracting to Gippsland during the afternoon. Fine across the north apart from isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the northeast. Mild and mostly cloudy in the south and warmer and generally sunny over the north. Humid with northerly winds over the far northeast, but moderate to locally fresh southerly winds elsewhere.Fire Danger -  High in the north.Wednesday 18 FebruaryDrizzle patches in the south contracting to Gippsland during the afternoon. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the northeast. A mild day in the south but warm north of the divide and rather humid in the east. Northerly winds over the far northeast, but moderate to locally fresh southerly winds elsewhere.Thursday 19 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms extending to most districts. over central and eastern areas, mainly on and north of the divide with thunderstorms possible over the northeast. Local morning drizzle in the south. A warm and humid day with light to moderate northeasterly winds and milder afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 20 FebruaryIsolated showers possible over most districts and the chance of thunderstorms in the east. A warm day with light to moderate northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
