Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 16/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight today will move slowly east to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Thursday. A trough will develop over western parts of the State on Friday then move east on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from the slight chance of showers and thunderstorms over the Flinders and Pastoral districts. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 17 FebruaryFine apart from the slight chance of showers and thunderstorms north of about Broken Hill to Nullarbor, chiefly in the afternoon. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coasts.Wednesday 18 FebruaryFine apart from the chance of showers and thunderstorms north of about Woomera to Broken Hill, more likely over the North East Pastoral. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeasterly winds.Thursday 19 FebruaryFine apart from the slight chance of showers and thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral, and northern parts of the Flinders and Riverland districts. Warm about southern coasts, hot over the remainder. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Friday 20 February
Dry apart from the slight chance of showers and thunderstorms over eastern border districts and the Flinders ranges north of about Keith. Hot with light to moderate northerly winds, freshening in the west. Moderate afternoon sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 1 mm, with the chance of isolated falls of 1 to 5 mm over the North East Pastoral associated with thunderstorms.
Saturday until MondayDry and hot to very hot ahead of a milder southerly change moving over western parts during Saturday morning then extending east during the day. Slight chance of showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts with the change on Saturday, then contracting to coasts and the far west on Sunday and Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
