Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 14/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the south Tasman Sea will cross New Zealand later on Sunday. A low pressure trough will develop over South Australia on Saturday before moving through western and central Victoria later on Sunday then over eastern Victoria Monday morning. The trough will then linger over northeastern Victoria on Tuesday and Wednesday. A new high pressure system will build south of the Bight on Monday and Tuesday before moving slowly eastwards towards Tasmania on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayShowers and local thunderstorms in the east and far north, mostly clearing this evening. Mostly clear over the remainder but remaining humid with generally light winds.Sunday 15 FebruaryA warm to hot and mostly sunny day, grading to Very hot in the far northwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west during the afternoon and isolated showers possible in the far east. Generally light winds over the east with coastal sea breezes. Moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds over the west, shifting fresh milder west to southwesterly later in the afternoon and evening.Fire Danger -  Very high to Severe in the west.Monday 16 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far east. Morning drizzle patches in the southwest. Warm and mostly sunny in the north but milder and partly cloudy in the south. Moderate to locally fresh south to southwest winds, in western and central areas extending to Gippsland during the morning. Light to moderate northeasterly winds over the northeast.Tuesday 17 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over the far east and local morning drizzle in the south. Mild in the south and warmer over the north. Moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Wednesday 18 FebruaryMorning drizzle patches in the south. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. A mild day in the south but warm north of the divide.
