MELBOURNE - Feb 14/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred over the southern Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A trough of low pressure and associated milder change will move across the western border later today, then continue over western and southern districts on Sunday. A new high will develop to the south of the Bight on Monday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of early morning thundery showers about the Upper South East and Lower South East districts. Dry over the remainder. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh and gusty northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change developing in the far west during the late afternoon and evening.Sunday 15 FebruaryFine apart from the chance of showers over parts of the agricultural area. Possible afternoon thunderstorms developing east of the ranges. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a southerly change in the west, reaching a line from Coober Pedy to Broken Hill in the evening.Monday 16 FebruaryThe chance of showers about the Flinders Ranges and adjacent areas, otherwise dry. Mild to warm about southern coasts grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coasts.Tuesday 17 February Fine apart from the chance of afternoon thundery showers northeast of about Broken Hill to Woomera to Ernabella. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm. Wednesday until FridayThe slight chance of afternoon showers in the far northeast on Wednesday, otherwise fine. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north, but gradually becoming warmer.
