Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high centred near New Zealand extends a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast, while a low pressure trough lies over the state's west. A cold front will to pass to the south later today and Thursday as the ridge weakens, with a new high forecast to move across from the west in its wake. This next high is expected to remain slow-moving over the southern Tasman Sea during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayShowers on the northern coast and adjacent ranges, possible extending to western slopes. The chance of showers near the southern and central coast. Showers and thunderstorms through parts of the northern inland, central west, and southern tablelands. Hot in the far west. East to northeasterly winds near the coast, freshening in the south. Generally northeast to northwesterly winds inland, tending southerly in the far west.Thursday 12 FebruaryShowers and possible thunderstorms about the coast and adjacent ranges, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms developing over the inland, chiefly in the afternoon in central and southern parts. Hot day in the far west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 13 FebruaryShowers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Showers and possible thunderstorms about much of the inland, mainly in the afternoon afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy in the far west, and the northwest slopes and plains. Hot day in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 14 FebruaryShowers in southern and central parts, more likely in the northeast. Chance of thunderstorms in the south. Fine in the far northwest. Hot in the west. East to northeasterly winds.Sunday 15 FebruaryShowers mostly about the coast, ranges and western slopes with the chance of thunderstorms. Mostly fine and hot to very hot in the west.
