MELBOURNE - Feb 10/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1033 hPa over the Tasman Sea is moving eastwards. A new high will move in south of the Bight today as a weak trough moves over southern parts of the State. The high south of the Bight will move steadily eastwards to be over the southern Tasman Sea on Friday. A change will develop in the far west late on Saturday then move over western and southern coastal districts on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayDry apart from the chance of light showers about the Lower South East coast after midday. Possible early morning fog patches over the Lower South East. Warm near southern coasts, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds, fresh and gusty at first about the northern Flinders Ranges, ahead of a moderate to fresh south to southeasterly change across the west and south.Thursday 12 FebruaryPossible thundery showers developing during the afternoon over parts of the Flinders, Mid North, Riverland and North East Pastoral districts. Dry over the remainder. Warm to hot about the coasts, very hot inland. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Fresh afternoon sea breezes about the coasts.Friday 13 FebruaryPossible thundery showers developing during the afternoon over parts of the Upper and Lower South East districts. Dry over the remainder. Hot to very hot with moderate northerly winds, freshening during the morning in the west.Saturday 14 February Dry and hot to very hot with moderate to fresh and gusty northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change developing in the far west during the afternoon and evening. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be up 2 mm. Sunday until TuesdayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over parts of the agricultural area on Saturday.
