MELBOURNE - Feb 9/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system is moving over the southwestern Tasman Sea strengthening a ridge to the New South Wales north coast while a weak low pressure trough lies over the inland parts. The high will continue to move very slowly east over the next few days maintaining the ridge to the northwest and the trough is expected to remain across the west of the state. Forecast for the rest of MondaySlight to medium chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly clear elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds in the north, and southwest to southeasterly winds in the south.Tuesday 10 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, increasing to a high chance on the north coast. The chance thunderstorms over the northwest and in the far southeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Remaining hot in the west. Southeast to northeast winds.Fire Danger - Very High in North WesternWednesday 11 FebruarySlight to medium chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the southern ranges and parts of the inland. Medium chance of showers near the coast and on adjacent ranges increasing to a high chance on the north coast with possible afternoon thunderstorms. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot in the west.
