Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 7/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north coast of New South Wales. A cold front crossing the Southern Ocean is expected to reach the south coast this evening with another high centre moving to the west of Tasmania. This high should then move to the southern Tasman Sea on Monday where it will drift slowly east over the next day or two. A trough of low pressure is expected to develop over the west of the state on Sunday where it will remain for several days. The hot air mass is likely to persist over western parts for many days.
Forecast for the rest of SundaySlight to medium chance of early showers on the far north coast. Medium chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far southeast in the afternoon, with a slight chance in the Illawarra. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early morning fog about the coast and ranges. Hot inland. East to northeasterly winds, turning southerly in the far south in the afternoon or evening.Fire Danger -  Very High: North Western, Central Ranges, Southern Slopes, Eastern and Southern Riverina.Monday 9 FebruaryMedium chance of showers along much of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds in the north, and southwest to southeasterly winds in the south.Tuesday 10 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers on the coast and ranges, increasing to a high chance on the north coast. Slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the northwest. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Remaining hot inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 11 FebruarySlight to medium chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the central and southern ranges and coast. Medium chance of showers and possible thunderstorms on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Remaining hot in the west.
