MELBOURNE - Feb 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight is moving slowly east while extending a ridge along the New South Wales coast, with a trough developing over the inland. The high is expected to be centred over the western Tasman Sea by Friday, maintaining a ridge to the north while the inland trough weakens. During Saturday a new trough is forecast to cross the state, with the next high extending a ridge across from the west behind it. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers or drizzle patches about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges, clearing later in the day. Showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, increasing along the Mid North Coast in the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny west of Divide. Southeast to northeasterly winds. Dangerous surf conditions along the coast.Friday 6 FebruaryMedium to high chance of showers along the central and north coasts and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 7 FebruaryMedium chance of showers on the northern half of coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot day in the far west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Sunday 8 FebruaryMedium chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot day in the west.
