Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system south of the Bight is moving slowly east and is directing a south to southeasterly airstream over NSW. The high is expected to be centred to the east of Tasmania by Friday and further east over the Tasman Sea on the weekend. Southeast winds are expected to tend northeasterly in the west and south later on Friday and over the weekend as the high pressure ridge pushes north along the coast. Showers are expected along much of the coast and adjacent ranges in the southeasterly airstream and fine conditions are likely west of the Divide. Hot maximum temperatures are expected over the inland later in the week and increasingly hot to very hot from the weekend onwards.

Southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 5 FebruaryMedium to high chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and partly cloudy in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 6 FebruaryMedium to high chance of showers along the central and north coast and adjacent ranges, decreasing to a slight chance on the south coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds. Hot in the west.Saturday 7 FebruaryMedium chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, decreasing to a slight chance as far south as the Illawarra coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
