MELBOURNE - Feb 2/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low pressure system south of New Zealand is moving east and weakening as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the northern coast of New South Wales. The coastal ridge will strengthen as a low pressure trough develops over the northeastern inland. The high is expected to be positioned east of Tasmania on Friday maintaining the ridge to the north. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayMedium chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far northern inland in the afternoon. Medium to high chance of showers over the northeast. Medium chance of morning showers about the central coast. Fine elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 4 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers near the coast and adjacent ranges, with a slight chance in the northern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Thursday 5 FebruaryMedium chance of showers near the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and partly cloudy in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 6 FebruaryMedium chance of showers on the northern coast, decreasing to a slight chance on the central and southern coasts.
