MELBOURNE - Feb 1/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea and is moving east and weakening as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the northern coast of New South Wales. The coastal ridge will strengthen today and tomorrow and a low pressure trough will develop over the northeastern inland. The high is expected to be positioned east of Tasmania on Friday maintaining the ridge to the north. Forecast for the rest of MondayPartly cloudy in the far west and in the southeastern inland. High to very high chance of showers on the north coast and ranges. High chance of showers over the northern and central inland, slight to medium elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms in the northern and central parts. South to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 3 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers in the northern inland with the chance of thunderstorms. Medium to high chance of showers near the coast and on adjacent ranges in the north and slight chance in the south. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 4 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers near the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Thursday 5 FebruaryMedium chance of showers near the coast and on adjacent. Partly cloudy in the west.
