Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 31/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system east of Tasmania will move away to the southeast today while a high pressure system strengthens south of the Bight. The high will be slow moving until the middle of the week. A cold front will move across Tasmania on Tuesday, reinforcing the southerly airflow across Bass Strait.
Forecast for the rest of SundayCool and mostly cloudy in the south with showers and drizzle easing during the afternoon and contracting to the southeast and the coast. Isolated afternoon showers developing over the northeast with the chance of isolated thunderstorms near the eastern ranges. Mild and partly cloudy over the north. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, locally fresh about the coastal fringe.Fire Danger -  High in the north.Monday 2 FebruaryCool to mild and and partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers. Isolated showers also possible about the northeast, mainly about the ranges. Mild to warm and generally sunny over the northern plains. Generally moderate to fresh southerly winds.Tuesday 3 FebruaryCool to mild and and partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers. Mild to warm and generally sunny over the northern plains. Light to moderate southerly winds, freshening along the coast during the afternoon.Wednesday 4 FebruaryCool to mild and partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers, contracting to the east in the afternoon.
