Weather Situation A strengthening high pressure system southwest of Tasmania will slowly move eastwards to be south of Tasmania by Thursday evening. A new high will move to a position southwest of the Bight during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine. Mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, gusty this morning about the western slopes of the Mt Lofty Ranges. Winds becoming fresh to strong about the coasts in the afternoon and evening.Thursday 29 JanuaryFine. Mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts.Friday 30 JanuaryFine. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh southerly during the afternoon and evening.Saturday 31 January Fine apart from a slight chance of isolated showers about the southern coasts. Mild to warm over agricultural areas, grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 1 mm, occurring about southern coasts on Saturday. Sunday until TuesdayA chance of showers about southern coasts extending northwards over northern agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts early next week. Possible showers developing about the west later in the weekend, before clearing early next week. Remaining hot in the far northeast, otherwise generally mild.
