U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Jan 26/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long grain milled rice prices steady to weak; medium grain milled
rice prices mostly steady, instances 1.00 lower.  Parboiled, Seconds heads and
Brewers steady to weak.  Rice by-products:  rice bran, millfeed and ground hulls
mostly steady.  Majority of contacts supplying products to regular customer with very
little new customer business.  Transportation issues continue to be a hot topic both
domestic and exports.  Rough rice bids to farmers are lower on 2014 crop however most
farmers are opting out of current bids.
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady; short grain milled rice
prices steady on very limited sales.  Second heads and Brewers steady.  Rice by-
products:  rice bran prices steady to firm; hull very lightly tested, however prices
firm.  Contacts have made remarks on slow to steady business as most continue to fill
needs of regular customers.  West Coast port shipping issues continue to disrupt
exports.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Jan 23rd, Mar closed .15 lower at 11.01; May
closed .145 lower at 11.27; Jly closed .14 lower at 11.51.  US dollar index on Friday
settled at 94.99.
