MELBOURNE - Jan 25/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will develop over Bight waters during Monday and is expected to strengthen and move east to southeast to lie south of Tasmania during Tuesday and the remainder of the week. A low pressure trough to the east of Victoria will deepen significantly during Wednesday night and a low pressure system is expected to form over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers near the coast clearing during the afternoon then isolated showers developing in the far east also during the afternoon. Cool to mild and partly cloudy in the south. Mild to warm and sunny along the northern border. Moderate southwest to southerly winds.Fire Danger - Generally High.Tuesday 27 JanuaryScattered showers in the east and isolated showers over remaining coastal areas. Fine elsewhere. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 28 JanuaryWidespread showers in the southeast. Isolated showers elsewhere but fine over the far northwest. Cool to mild in the south but mild to warm over the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly wind.Thursday 29 JanuaryShowers in Gippsland. Fine elsewhere apart from isolated showers near the central coast. Cool to mild in the south but mild to warm over the north.
