Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 25/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure centre south of the Bight will move gradually east-southeast over the coming days, with an associated ridge pushing along the New South Wales coast. A trough over the inland is expected to deepen today and Tuesday, before weakening mid-week as the high passes to the south of Tasmania. A weak ridge is then likely to become established over the state, with a low pressure system forecast to develop in the Tasman Sea during Thursday or Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayShowers or drizzle about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges, possibly extending to western slopes later in the day. Showers and possible thunderstorms about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, with showers increasing during the afternoon. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms developing on the northwest slopes and nearby areas. Fine and mostly sunny in remaining western districts. South to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast.Tuesday 27 JanuaryShowers or rain areas in central and eastern districts, more widespread in the the north with moderate falls possible about the northwest slopes and surrounding areas. The chance of thunderstorms over the northern and central inland. Fine and mostly sunny further west. South to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 28 JanuaryShowers or rain areas in the east, and the chance of showers or thunderstorms in central districts. Mostly fine in the west. Southeasterly winds, freshening along the northern coast.Thursday 29 JanuaryShowers in the eastern, and possibly in central districts. Fine in the west.
