MELBOURNE - Jan 25/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough over southern and western New South Wales will shift to the northeast today as a cold front approaches from the Southern Ocean. Behind this, a high pressure system will push a ridge along the coast, with a new trough developing over the state's west during Monday and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Light showers or drizzle patches developing along the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges during the evening. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Generally light winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change through western, southern and central parts, strong and gusty along the coast.Monday 26 JanuaryShowers and drizzle patches about the coast and ranges, tending widespread in the north. Showers and thunderstorms developing over the northern ranges and adjacent western slopes and plains in the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Fog patches about the eastern ranges. South to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast.Tuesday 27 JanuaryShowers or rain areas near the coast, and through the central and northern inland. Possible thunderstorms over the northern inland. Fine and mostly sunny in the west.
