Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 24/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is crossing southern Victoria this morning and should reach the far east of the State by early afternoon. A high pressure system will develop over Bight waters during Monday and is expected to strengthen and move east to southeast to lie south of Tasmania during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers extending across southern and mountain districts in the morning then contracting to the coast later in the day. Possible early thunderstorms in the far east. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm along the northern border. Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout.Fire Danger -  High, locally reaching Very high in the north.Monday 26 JanuaryIsolated showers near the coast clearing during the afternoon. Isolated showers in the far east, mainly during the afternoon. Cool to mild and partly cloudy in the south. Mild to warm and sunny along the northern border. Moderate southwest to southerly winds.Tuesday 27 JanuaryScattered showers in the east and isolated showers over remaining southern areas. Fine over the northwest. A cool to mild day with moderate southerly winds.Wednesday 28 JanuaryScattered showers in the east. Isolated showers elsewhere but fine over the far northwest. Cool to mild in the south but mild to warm over the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
