MELBOURNE - Jan 24/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough over southern and western New South Wales will shift to the northeast today as a cold front approaches from the Southern Ocean. Behind this, a high pressure system will push a ridge along the coast, with a new trough developing over the state's west during Monday and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayShowers and thunderstorms in the northeast, mainly during the afternoon. The chance of showers and thunderstorms across the central and northern inland, and about the southeast during the morning or early afternoon. Late showers or drizzle increasing along the southern coast. Fine and mostly sunny in the southwest. Generally light winds ahead of a gusty south to southwesterly change extending from the southwest.Monday 26 JanuaryShowers or drizzle patches in the east and north, more widespread near the coast. Possible thunderstorms over the northeast. Fine and generally sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh in the west and near the coast.Tuesday 27 JanuaryShowers or rain areas near the coast, and through the central and northern inland. Possible thunderstorms over the northern inland. Fine and mostly sunny in the west.
