Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 24/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough lies over southern and western New South Wales, while another is situated off the northern coast. Later on the weekend, the inland trough will become mobile as a cold front approaches from the Southern Ocean, shifting to the northeast by early Monday. Behind this a high pressure system will push a ridge along the coast, with a new trough developing over the state's west.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers in the far northeast clearing. Showers and thunderstorms about remaining eastern districts and in the northwest, locally severe. Fine in the southwest. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, becoming variable inland.Sunday 25 JanuaryShowers and thunderstorms in the east and north, mainly during the afternoon and evening. Fine and partly cloudy in the southwest. Northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a gusty south to southwesterly change extending from the southwest.Monday 26 JanuaryShowers and drizzle patches in the east and north, more widespread near the coast. Possible thunderstorms over the northeast. Fine in the west. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 27 JanuaryShowers or rain areas along the coast, and through the central and northern inland. Possible thunderstorms over the northern inland. Fine in the southwest. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 28 JanuaryShowers or rain areas in the east, isolated showers in the west.
