MELBOURNE - Jan 21/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough extends from northern Australia into western New South Wales. During Saturday and Sunday the trough will move to the northeast as a cold front passes across the south of the state. Behind the front a high pressure system will move towards Tasmania on Monday extending a ridge to the north coast and the trough is expected to move back over the western parts of the state. Forecast for the rest of ThursdaySlight to medium chance of showers in the eastern and central parts increasing to very high near the northern half of the coast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast and on south and central coasts and ranges. Mostly sunny in the far west. East to northeasterly winds in the east, tending southeasterly in the west.Friday 23 JanuarySlight to medium chance of showers increasing to high on the coastal fringe in the north. The chance of thunderstorms. East to northeasterly winds, becoming light and variable across the southern inland.Saturday 24 JanuarySlight to medium chance of showers increasing to high on the coastal fringe in the north.
