Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 21/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1015 hPa over the Bight is slow moving and will weaken ahead of a weak front that will move to the south overnight on Thursday. A high pressure ridge will extend over the south of the State on Friday with another front approaching southern coasts later on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine and mostly clear. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds.Thursday 22 JanuaryPossible morning fog patches about the southern agricultural area, then a fine day apart from the slight chance of showers late evening about the Lower South East coast and southwest coast of Kangaroo Island. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 23 JanuaryThe slight chance of morning showers near southern and western coasts. The medium chance of showers and possible thunder in the afternoon over the Flinders and North East Pastoral districts south of about Marree. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 24 JanuaryThe slight chance of showers near southern and western coasts developing late evening. Fine over the remainder apart from the medium chance of showers and possible thunder in the afternoon and evening over the North East Pastoral east of about Leigh Creek. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 25 January
The slight chance of showers and possible thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral district east of about Leigh Creek clearing early in the morning. The slight chance of showers over the West Coast and southern agricultural area, more likely about the southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, possibly reaching 2 to 5 mm in the Lower South East coast and the thunderstorms in the northeast.
Monday until WednesdayThe slight chance of showers about the central and southern coasts, contracting southeast to clear by Tuesday morning. Fine across the State for Wednesday. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
