Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 20/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman sea is moving slowly eastwards. A trough of low pressure near Ceduna is moving eastwards, and will extend across the remainder of the State during today and early Wednesday. A high pressure ridge will form over the Bight on Wednesday, and remain near stationary on Thursday and Friday, although a weak front will move to the south overnight on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayThe slight chance of showers developing about the eastern border districts south of about Renmark during the morning, more likely over the Lower South East district, then clearing to the east during the evening. The chance of late afternoon and evening showers over the agricultural area west of about Adelaide to Clare, more likely south of about Cleve to Ceduna. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southerly change in the west extending to most parts of the State in the afternoon and evening. Southerly winds strong at times in the west with areas of raised dust.Wednesday 21 JanuaryThe slight chance of showers near coasts, Eyre Peninsula and the Mount Lofty Ranges, clearing in the afternoon. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds.Thursday 22 JanuaryFine apart from the slight chance of showers late afternoon or evening about the Lower South East coast and south coast of Kangaroo Island. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 23 January
The slight chance of morning showers over the Mount Lofty Ranges south of the Barossa Valley, and near the coasts. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday are expected to be generally less than 1 mm, reaching 1 to 3 mm in the Lower South East.
Saturday until MondayThe slight chance of showers near the coasts, mainly in the south. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
