MELBOURNE - Jan 19/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Tasman sea is moving slowly eastwards. A trough of low pressure near the western border is moving eastwards, and will extend across the remainder of the State during Tuesday and early Wednesday. A high pressure ridge will form over the Bight on Wednesday, and remain stationary on Thursday and Friday, although a weak front will move to the south overnight on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine. Mild in the south grading to hot in the northwest. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming moderate to fresh west to southwesterly in the far west.Tuesday 20 JanuaryThe slight chance of showers about the eastern border districts south of about Renmark, and over remaining parts south of about Adelaide to Tarcoola. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southerly change in the west extending to most parts of the State in the afternoon and evening.Wednesday 21 JanuaryThe slight chance of showers near coasts, Eyre Peninsula and the Mount Lofty Ranges, clearing in the afternoon. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds.Thursday 22 JanuaryFine apart from the slight chance of showers late afternoon or evening about the Lower South East coast and south coast of Kangaroo Island. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 23 January The slight chance of morning showers over the Mount Lofty Ranges south of the Barossa Valley, and near the coasts. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday are expected to be generally less than 1 mm, reaching 1 to 3 mm in the Lower South East. Saturday until MondayThe slight chance of showers near the coasts, mainly in the south.
